A minimum of four implants are embedded into your jaw during one surgical procedure. Traditional implants require two separate procedures with several months of healing time in between.
Immediate Bridge Placement
With All-on-4, a temporary bridge is placed right after implant surgery, so you will leave our office with teeth. Once the implants have fused with the bone tissue, you will receive a permanent bridge for completely restored function.
Avoid Bone Grafts
In most cases, All-on-4 does not require bone grafting because the two implants at the back of the jaw are placed at an angle to maximize contact with the existing bone tissue. Many patients with missing teeth suffer from bone atrophy, meaning traditional implants would not be recommended unless the jawbone is first strengthened through bone grafting.

Preparation
Before your procedure begins, Dr. Bidra will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is safe, precise, and provides you with maximum benefits for many years to come.
- Treatment Planning
- We will use digital x-rays and other tools to determine exactly where your implants will be placed.
- Local Anesthesia
- On the day of surgery, you will get comfortable in the treatment chair before we provide a local anesthetic to make the treatment area numb, eliminating discomfort.
- Sedation Upon Request
- If you wish to achieve deeper relaxation during treatment, we can provide IV sedation upon request.
Implant Placement
We will create the foundation for your permanent bridge.
- Incisions
- Dr. Bidra will create incisions in the gum tissue to access the jawbone.
- Implants
- The implants will be inserted into the jaw to replace lost tooth roots.
- Sutures
- The gums will be sutured to completely close the incisions and promote healing.
Teeth-in-a-Day
In most cases, patients receive a temporary bridge to wear as the jaw heals.
- Temporary Restoration
- Dr. Bidra will attach the temporary bridge to your dental implants.
- Healing
- Over the next three to six months, the implants will fuse to the jawbone.
- Considerations
- While your jaw heals, it is important to eat only soft foods to avoid placing strain on the treatment site.
Permanent Bridge
When Dr. Bidra confirms that your jaw has healed, you will receive your permanent bridge.
- Attachment
- The temporary bridge is replaced with the permanent bridge, which is secured to your implants.
- Restored Function
- With your permanent bridge in place, you will be able to enjoy any foods you wish, from fresh fruit to rare steak.
- Maintenance
- Caring for your permanent bridge is just like caring for natural teeth. Brush twice and floss once daily, and see us every six months for a checkup.
