Smile Makeover for Crooked Teeth By Advanced Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry on August 04, 2019

Woman with straight, attractive teethCrooked teeth may not always impact a person’s oral health or function, but they will affect the aesthetics of the smile. Fortunately, Dr. Steven M. Balloch offers a comprehensive range of cosmetic dentistry treatments to address oral imperfections such as crooked teeth.

While a single dental treatment can sometimes provide our Glastonbury, CT, patients with the results they desire, Dr. Balloch can combine multiple cosmetic procedures for a complete smile makeover. A smile makeover for crooked teeth may involve any number of cosmetic dentistry treatments that produce straighter and more symmetrical teeth. Dr. Balloch will customize each makeover treatment based on the unique needs of our patients.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a common solution for crooked teeth and other minor misalignment problems. Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic restorations that bond to the front-facing portion of the teeth to make it appear as though patients have straight, white, even teeth. Porcelain veneers can be applied to a single tooth or a set of teeth. They can dramatically improve the appearance of the smile on their own, but when combined with other cosmetic dentistry treatments, they can completely makeover your smile.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a simple cosmetic dentistry treatment that can drastically improve the appearance of crooked or misshaped teeth. During dental bonding treatment, a tooth-colored dental compound is applied directly to the surface of the teeth. Dr. Balloch shapes the compound material to produce the desired results. Dental bonding may be included in smile makeover treatment to improve the shape and size of the teeth, allowing our Glastonbury patients to enjoy straighter looking teeth.

Invisalign®

Porcelain veneers and dental bonding are great treatment options for patients with minor alignment issues. However, if crooked teeth are more severe or if alignment issues are impacting oral functions, a smile makeover procedure may include Invisalign treatment.

Invisalign uses a series of clear, plastic aligners to gradually shift the teeth into place. Invisalign works much like traditional braces, but it is a completely metal-free system, so we are able to address crooked teeth discreetly and comfortably.

Gum Lift

An uneven gum line can give the teeth a crooked appearance. To create a more even gum line and enhance the results of other cosmetic dentistry treatments, Dr. Balloch may recommend that a gum lift be included in smile makeover treatment.

During the gum lift procedure, Dr. Balloch removes excess tissue that is hanging over the teeth. A gum lift allows Dr. Balloch to even out the gum line (which will make teeth look straighter), while also lengthening the teeth by revealing more of the crown.
