When people ask what kind of dental office we are, I do not start with a list of procedures. I start with what we believe. Advanced Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry was founded on a simple set of convictions: that dentistry should keep pushing forward, that the work should be done to the highest standard every time, and that the goal is always a real difference in someone's life. Everything else, from the technology we invest in to the materials we choose to the way we greet you at the door, follows from those three ideas. Patients travel to our Glastonbury office from across Connecticut, from neighboring states, and from as far away as Puerto Rico, and I believe it is because that philosophy shows in the work.

Just as importantly, nearly everything happens under one roof. From your first 3D scan, to the surgical placement of your implants, to the fabrication of your final teeth in our on-site laboratory, your care stays with our team from beginning to end. That continuity isn't just about convenience; it is a clinical advantage. When the same specialists plan, place, and restore your smile, nothing is lost in translation between separate offices. The result is more precise, more predictable, and more comfortable for you.

 

Innovation

A Practice Built on Innovation

Innovation is not a buzzword here; it is something I have spent my career pursuing. I hold a United States patent for the Bidra Conversion Smart Polishing Cap, an invention that produces cleaner, better-fitting implant bridges and reduces the tiny imperfections that can lead to plaque, inflammation, and bone loss. The dental implant surgical safety checklist I created and published is now used by clinicians around the world. And as Professor and Director of the Prosthodontics Residency Program at the University of Connecticut, I get to help shape how the next generation of specialists is trained. I love my work, I am passionate about using my skills to elevate this field, and it is my privilege to work directly with patients who put their trust in Advanced Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry.

There is a reason people trust us with their most complex cases. Both Dr. Xiao Chun Li and I are board-certified prosthodontists, specialists who complete three additional years of training focused entirely on the replacement and restoration of teeth. We use the best-quality materials at every stage, from premium name-brand implants to the final teeth crafted in our on-site laboratory, and we handle the difficult work that other offices tend to refer out. Our practice is also one of only two Nobel Biocare All-on-4 Centers of Excellence in Connecticut, a recognition reserved for practices that meet rigorous standards for outcomes and case volume. Full-arch All-on-X treatment is one of the things we are best known for, and it is a good example of our approach: we would rather do it right once, with the finest materials, than cut corners and see a patient pay for it later in time, money, and health. Why I Do This Work

I am Dr. Avinash Bidra, and beyond the research, the teaching, and the credentials, what drives me is simple: I want to make a real difference in people’s lives. Over the years, I have placed thousands of implants and completed hundreds of full-arch cases. The moment a patient sees their new smile for the first time is still the best part of my job. I have watched people walk in embarrassed to smile in front of their own families and walk out transformed, standing a little taller. After all this time, that never gets old, and it is the reason I still love coming to work.

I am fortunate to practice alongside Dr. Xiao Chun Li, a board-certified prosthodontist who shares my commitment to specialist-level care. Like me, Dr. Li completed years of advanced training devoted to implants, cosmetic dentistry, and full-mouth restoration, and she brings meticulous attention and genuine warmth to every patient she treats. Patients consistently tell us how welcome and relaxed she makes them feel, how carefully she listens, and how thoroughly she explains their options before any decision is made. Having two board-certified prosthodontists under one roof means specialist expertise is always available to our patients, and it allows us to give even the most complex cases the time and attention they deserve.

A registered dental hygienist for nearly 30 years, Julie is thorough and remarkably gentle, and she is often the person who puts a nervous patient at ease. Her motto says it best: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
