Dr. Bidra is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial prosthodontist, a specialist who focuses on the restoration and replacement of missing teeth using dental implants. Prosthodontists are the experts, general dentists turn to, in difficult tooth restoration and replacement cases. Dr. Bidra also has a sub-specialty in maxillofacial prosthodontics, an even more advanced specialization in prosthodontics that focuses on rehabilitative reconstruction of missing parts of the jaws.

In recognition of his contributions to advancement of Prosthodontics, Dr. Bidra has been awarded the 'Distinguished Clinician Award' in 2019 as well as the 'Educator of the Year Award' in 2023 by the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Bidra is also the Past-President of the Connecticut Section of the American College of Prosthodontists.

Innovator in His Field

Dr. Bidra’s diagnostic and treatment protocols for implant-supported bridges using just four dental implants are used worldwide by clinicians and prosthodontics programs. In addition, he has invented components for implant prosthetic components used for the All-on-4 treatment for which he was awarded a United States patent. This product is commercially available and used by dentists and dental technicians around the United States. Dr. Bidra is also a co-inventor of a unique implant design. More recently, he researched on an oral rinse to inactivate the COVID-19 virus, reducing the risk of spreading the virus during dental procedures.

Esteemed Educator

Dr. Bidra trains other dentists around the United States on dental implants and is the Director of the Prosthodontics Residency Program at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He is also a Clinical Professor who teaches advanced prosthodontics, implant surgery, and maxillofacial prosthodontics to postgraduate dental residents.

Dr. Bidra has been awarded the the 'Educator of the Year Award' in 2023 by the American College of Prosthodontists.
